If you make a lot of smoothies, ice cream, creamy soups and sauce the Vitamix is definitely a good investment. You won't be disappointed. You'll actually regret not having bought one sooner. I don't make lots of smoothies but I make a lot of everything else I mentioned and it makes it so much easier. The only thing I don't like is that they advertise it as the be-all and end-all of kitchen appliances and that you won't need a food processor once you have it. Not true.
